Best Email Signature for Students

A student signature is a tiny introduction. Professors, recruiters, and department staff meet you through email first, so it helps when the footer already says your major, your year, and where you study. Keep it light: you are not a company, and nobody wants a banner from a sophomore.

Must have
Full name, major and class year ("Computer Science, Class of 2028"), the university spelled out, and a professional email address, ideally your school address.
Helpful
A LinkedIn, GitHub, or portfolio link to show your work, a phone number for job emails, and one line on what you want.
Skip
Nicknames, joke handles, song lyrics, a home address, and an oversized logo. Sizes are in email signature size.

Questions

Should a student have an email signature?

Yes. A short signature with your name, major, graduation year, and school makes internship, scholarship, and professor emails look prepared.

What should a student put in an email signature?

Full name, major, expected graduation year, university, a professional email, a phone number if you are applying for jobs, and a LinkedIn or portfolio link.

Should a student add a quote or a logo?

A university mark is fine. Skip long quotes; one short line about what you are looking for does more.
